The IPVI is based on a dual approach that assesses both a person's behavior and values.

Assessing an individual's potential and professional behavior involves evaluating their personality. More specifically, analyzing their values reveals the candidate's motivation and the underlying factors that drive their actions. By offering such an analysis, IPVI effectively addresses the challenges of modern recruitment, providing a tool that considers factors such as mobility, company values, skills assessment, and coaching.

After extensive work and research conducted over the past thirty years, the authors have developed a questionnaire designed to measure personality in its normal, everyday functioning. The result is a tool for measuring personality and values that exhibits high validity and reliability.

This questionnaire allows any individual aged 15 and over, regardless of their socio-cultural background, to obtain a fair assessment of their personality. It has the merit of reconciling the practical requirements of easy administration with the scientific requirements of methodological rigor. New North American standards were established in 2015.
